The largest collection of wines of any Orlando area event is coming to the Orlando Science Center on Saturday, May 14, 2011. The Science of Wine is not just another wine tasting, but an opportunity to sample over 130 fine wines from all the most important wine regions of the world. The event is a fundraiser for the Orlando Science Center and presented by Akerman Senterfitt in partnership with Southern Wine & Spirits.
A sampling of the wines featured that night include Rodney Strong, Penfolds, Beringer, Artesa, Francis Coppola, Ferrari Carano, Gloria Ferrer, Joel Gott, Grgich Hills, Ste Michelle Wine Estates, Stags Leap Winery, Mer Soleil, Robert Mondavi, Nickel & Nickel, Belle Glos, Ladera and more! From 7 to 10 p.m., there will be plentiful gourmet and casual food offerings to accompany the wide range of wine selections. Participating restaurants include Flemingâ€™s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Bonefish Grill, Grand Bohemian, Fiorellaâ€™s at the Westin Imagine, Stonewood Grill, BB Kingâ€™s Blues Club, Fresh Market, Bosphorous Turkish Restaurant and more.Â In addition, the Science Center will offer hands-on, interactive, wine knowledge-building workshops presented by wine industry experts with topics like â€śThe Super Palette – Simple Sensory Evaluation of Wineâ€ť and â€śAppellations Can You Taste the Difference?â€ť
Tickets are available at $65 per person. Tickets for Science Center annual members are only $50. Sponsorships are available from $1,500.
