In celebration of Founderâ€™s Day, the historic iron Yellin gates guarding the Tower will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. for visitors to cross the moat and meet the majestic tower face-to-face. February 2 through April 4 – Art in the Gardens: The Olmstedâ€™s Dream by Beryl Brenner
In producing the Olmsted interpretative works, Beryl was astonished to learn how prolific her muse was. In essence, he was a landscape architect who used nature the way a painter uses colors. She designed a group of works that would honor both his creative spirit and his unique perception by combining photography, unusual papers and fused glass. The end result is a vivid, visual scrapbook of Olmstedâ€™s work. Berylâ€™s art has been exhibited in galleries from The Metropolitan Museum of Art Community Gallery to Japan to Miami and in between.
